2003
In 2003, Phoenix Media started from the idea that the future of outdoor advertising is not static, but digital, dynamic, and integrated. In 2005, we launched the first digital street screen in Romania. We were the first to see, in the middle of the city, not just a billboard, but a real-time communication platform.
2007
In 2007, we built the first national network of digital screens. In 2013, we were the first to sell advertising in hourly slots. In a field accustomed to static billboards and one-off sales, we brought flexibility, granularity, and adaptability.
2015
In 2015, we created STOC, the first Romanian software for programmatic OOH. We are continuously transforming it into an ecosystem that manages everything: planning, reporting, optimization, audience data, and real-time execution. What was once just software is now a way of rethinking digital OOH communication.
We have developed a network of over 161 screens in 18 cities, equipped with proprietary technology and strategically located. But what defines us is not just the scale, but the constant courage to be first.

Applied sustainability in OOH advertising
Phoenix Media integrates sustainability principles directly into its operating processes and media delivery. We analyze the energy consumption and CO₂ emissions for each DOOH campaign, correlating the exposures with real energy sources from the National Energy System.

The transition from traditional OOH to Digital Out-of-Home significantly reduces the carbon footprint by eliminating PVC consumption, related logistics, and material waste. Our digital networks are automated, energy-efficient, and configured for real-time reporting.
